The High King Avalokitesvara Sutra: A Spiritual Solution to Purify, Heal, and Protect You and Your Loved Ones from the Coronavirus (Covid 19)
In December 2019, a lethal coronavirus appeared mysteriously in Wuhan and spread like wild fire throughout the world. Many people suffer from pain, fear, and grief as a result of the virulent rampage of the virus.
A virus is a demon in disguise to rob people of peace and happiness. How can we liberate from this collective unwholesome karma of humanity?
There is a spiritual solution to this – the High King Avalokitesvara Sutra.
The High King Avalokitesvara Sutra is a very powerful sutra if one has unshakable faith in the power of the Buddha and is willing to recite the sutra with sincerity and diligence. By reciting this sutra, you will be able to connect with the supreme energy of enlightenment of all Buddhas to bring about wonderful benefits such as good heath, longevity, blessings, purification of heavy sins, alleviating of suffering, protection from heavy injury in a fatal crisis etc.
Before we practice the sutra, let us first understand the extraordinary background of the sutra.
The High King Avalokitesvara Sutra originated from the Five Dynasties period (907–960).
At that time, a person called Sun Jin De, who was a sculptor of Buddha’s statues, was implicated in a serious crime. He was forced to admit a crime he had not committed because he couldn’t endure the excruciating tortures inflicted by the investigation officers.
While in prison, Sun dreamed of a monk advising him to recite the High King Avalokitesvara Sutra for one thousand times to liberate him from the death sentence. The monk then taught him the sutra.
A miracle occurred on the day of his execution. When the executioner was about to behead Sun, all the three swords were splintered into pieces, leaving Sun completely unharmed.
The king, upon learning of this miraculous event, found out more details from Sun. Sun explained about his dream and the monk who taught him the sutra. The king then ordered Sun to write down this sutra to benefit of all people.
When Sun returned home to enshrine the Avalokitesvara’s statue at his home, he spotted three sword lines on the neck of the Avalokitesvara’s statue.
In Chapter 25 of the Lotus Sutra, Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara (Guan Yin, Kwan Yin) vows to protect anyone through his profound compassion and immeasurable divine powers, so long as one single-mindedly and wholeheartedly chants the name of Avalokitesvara. The key is to achieve Oneness with your Buddha-nature.
The method of Avalokitesvara is the most direct method of the Dharma practice to help one connect with the heart and mind of all Buddhas.

The Vajra Treasury Lion’s Recreation Buddha,
The Jeweled Victory Buddha,
The Divine Powers Buddha,

The Mountain King of Universal Light and Merits Buddha,

the Moon Palace Purity Buddha of the North,
the Innumerable Vigorous Jeweled Crown Buddhas in the top realm,
the Accomplished in Tranquility King of Moon Music Buddha in the bottom realm.
Immeasurable Buddhas,
Abundant Treasures Buddha,
Shakyamuni Buddha,
Maitreya Buddha,
Akshobhya Buddha,
Amitabha Buddha.
For all beings living in the middle realm,
beings residing in the midst of the Buddha-worlds,
beings who walk and live on the grounds,
as well as those in mid-air,
I shower loving-kindness and compassion upon all living beings,
so as to bring them peace, stability, and respite.
If you practice day and night,
always reciting this sutra in your heart,
you will be liberated from the suffering of birth and death,
and all types of poisons and harms will be eradicated.

By reciting this sutra continuously,
the Seven Buddhas, who are the Lords of the World, declare this mantra:
Li Po Li Po Di, Qiu He Qiu He Di, Tuo Luo Ni Di, Ni He La Di, Pi Li Ni Di, Mo He Qie Di, Zhen Ling Qian Di, So Ha
离婆离婆帝。求诃求诃帝。陀罗尼帝。尼诃罗帝。毘离尼帝。摩诃伽帝。真陵乾帝。梭哈
