Three Ways to Tame Your Inner Critics

Three Steps to Tame Your Inner Critics

Your inner critic is simply a part of you that requires more self-love.

We tend to compare ourselves to other people and castigate ourselves harshly: you are always making mistakes! You don’t do anything right! Are you dim-witted.

We suffer tremendously because we reject our own essence, our true self, to be who we truly are. Criticizing and condemning ourselves irrationally only serves to catapult our sense of self-esteem to a downward spiral.

Trying to suppress our inner critic by brushing them off is merely sweeping the problem under the carpet. Simply thinking about positive thoughts is not enough. If we wish to heal ourselves, we must transform our thought energy patterns consciously and mindfully. We need to learn to embrace our traumas and wounds with deep compassion and loving-kindness.
Here are the three steps to tame our inner critics:

#1 – Letting it go

The critical voice is a part of us that wants to feel safe and heard. Aware of its presence, but choosing not to attach to it helps us liberate from the shackle of the inner critic. That’s how we empty the weeds of our thoughts and let the flowers of wisdom and compassion to flourish like a pristine lotus.

# 2 – Taking a Middle Way Approach

The second step is taking a Middle Way Approach .
Good or bad, right or wrong, success or failure are merely subjective thoughts we conceive in our minds in response to different circumstances. Things change when conditions change. Therefore, having a more balanced and realistic perspective of yourself is the Middle Way approach to keep the inner critic in check.

#3 – Focusing on Your Strength

The third step is focusing on your strength. Dedicate your time and efforts to developing your talents so that you can awaken your greatest potential within to serve humanity. Let your true self shine like a brilliant jewel. You are a solitaire. That’s your true self.
The Buddha says, “You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”
Remember, you are worthy, you are lovable, you are a precious gift to humanity. So, always be kind and gentle to yourself. Awaken your True Love within you.
